What do the different spam categories mean?

Spam quarantined by SpamHero's filters are placed into one of many different categories. The filter's "essential" rules (rules that are always enabled regardless of filtering settings) are as follows:

Spam category Meaning
Confirmed Spam Source The source of this message is a confirmed spam source
Dating/Adult/Porn Spam relating to adult themes and/or dating services
Get-Rich Quick Spam concerning schemes to get rich quickly
Insurance Spam related to car / home / life insurance
Likely Spam Source The source of this message is a likely spam source
Loans/Credit Spam related to loans or credit cardsh
Lotto/Gambling Spam related to gambling
Malicious Software Spam containing or related to malicious software
Misc/Abstract Spam campaigns that don't fit in other categories
Misc/General Spam campaigns that don't fit in other categories
Obscured Message Spam messages with obscured content
Phishing Scam Malicious messages that attempt to gain personal information through deceitful tactics
Pirated Software Spam messages containing or related to pirated software
Printer Ink Spam related to printer ink
RX/Fake Cures Spam messages that claim to have an easy treatment for a disease or condition
Travel Spam related to travel
Unethical Software Spam messages containing or related to unethical software
Virus Spam message contains a virus




There are also "optional" (user-enabled) spam filtering policies and custom filters that can appear in place of the spam category:
